Our commitment to action: National goals met and proven success

Our commitment to sustainability is not just in words, but also in action. As a collective actor for textiles, we not only follow national regulations, but also exceed the set goals. It is precisely the success in meeting these goals that is the best proof of our professionalism, efficiency and dedication to our mission.

The results achieved in 2024 for the collected textile waste from our clients, traders and manufacturers, in the name of the law on extended responsibility and management of different types of waste, speak for us as a collective actor, but also for the responsibility of customers.

Released textile pieces in the Republic of Macedonia for 2024 registered by Teksomak – 3,247,437, or 1406 tons, and the national goals for one year are 1150 tons, divided into 8 different categories of textiles. Texomak has exceeded the national targets by 256 tons in 2024.

The national target for waste management is 250 tons per year, and Teksomak has handled 303 tons of waste, which is 53 tons more than the national target.

Over 65% of the funds collected according to the national targets should go to investment in infrastructure, Teksomak has invested 69% in infrastructure. Between 5 and 15% in media, Teksomak has 11%.

Investing in infrastructure and holding events and education to raise the eco-awareness of the people

The largest part of the funds collected through the tax paid by producers and traders is used to create infrastructure that serves to collect textile waste as well as its logistics. Then raising the awareness of citizens about ecology and recycling through education and events.

Cooperation with municipalities allows us to do all this to directly contribute to environmental protection and sustainable development. Our goal is to build a system that will enable citizens to take care of the environment more easily and efficiently.

1. Investing in infrastructure – Installation of waste sorting containers:

In partnership with the municipalities with which we have concluded an agreement, special containers for textile selection have been installed in various places throughout the municipalities. This allows citizens to more easily select waste and increase the recycling and donation rate of different types of waste. We regularly publish notifications about new collaborations and installation of containers throughout the municipalities on our blog and on our social networks.

The Purple Hippo is our mascot by which we are recognizable, so you can easily recognize all our containers and bags for collecting textile waste throughout the city.

2. Conducting education in schools and kindergartens

In partnership with the municipalities with which we have concluded an agreement, we conduct education for children in schools and kindergartens in those municipalities, so that they learn from a young age about the importance of reuse, recycling, ecology and nature. 3. Holding educational and entertaining events for all generations

We believe that nature conservation can be fun and inspiring. Therefore, in partnership with the municipalities with which we have concluded an agreement, we organize interactive and entertaining events throughout the parks and malls.

Our goal is to approach children and young people in a creative and interesting way. Through games, workshops and exhibitions, we create an atmosphere where they can enjoy themselves and at the same time learn important lessons about:

  • Recycling and how it can become a fun habit.
  • Reusing old objects through creative projects.
  • Nature conservation and the importance of our environment.

These events give children the opportunity to have fun, be creative and socialize, while at the same time developing their environmental awareness.
