“Recycle, create, shine” – was the motto of the two-day educational and creative event organized at Diamond Mall Skopje and the Macedonian Fashion Association, dedicated to the youngest with the aim of encouraging awareness of reuse and recycling from an early age. ♻️✨

On May 17, three inspiring workshops were held:
👗 “Old clothes, new style” with Irina Tosheva
💍 “DIY jewelry and fashion accessories workshop” with Dorotej Nešovski
🌸 “Mini nature in a flower arrangement” with Jagoda Pačemska

Through creative play and hands-on work, the children learned:
✅ that old clothes are not “waste” but a resource that can be transformed into something new
✅ how to think sustainably and reduce unnecessary waste
✅ that they, even though small, can make a big difference for the environment

Our Hippo was there collecting old pieces of clothing for recycling, donation or reuse 👕

The second day, on May 18, was reserved for the “Eco Parade of Styles” workshop, where the children, with the help of students from the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy UKIM, made unique pieces of clothing from recycled materials. Meanwhile, the latest hair and makeup trends were passed on to the models who were preparing for the mini fashion show by the students of SUGS “Dimitar Vlahov”.

At the same time, a consultation with fashion psychologist Sara Stojchevska took place, who helped the visitors find their own style according to their personality.

The final moment was the mini fashion show, where the creations were presented with great pride and confidence, and was preceded by the Dance Performance of Skill Factory 🎨👠

📚 This experience not only taught them to create, but also to think critically about fashion, consumption and the impact we have on the planet.
